Liquid Tamoxifen is now available to patients with breast cancer who may have difficulty swallowing pills

Staying on prescribed Tamoxifen therapy is critical for people with breast cancer; otherwise, it could affect the outcome of their treatment. Until now, Tamoxifen has been available only in pill form. However, difficulty in swallowing pills is not uncommon in patients with breast cancer and may develop as a result of surgical, pharmaceutical, radiation or chemotherapy treatments. This may affect both compliance and adherence to prescribed courses of oral solid medications. Soltamox is the first and only liquid form of Tamoxifen available to patients with breast cancer who may have difficulty swallowing pills. It is great to have a new tool to help keep patients on hormonal therapy.

“A liquid version of tamoxifen may help people with breast cancer stay on their tamoxifen therapy” says Dr. Jivesh Sharma.
